The handling is ridiculous, the damage is unpredictable, and the open world levels are mostly empty and boring.īut I can't stop playing it. It feels loose and janky and all the problems seem to have been deliberately retained in the spirit of keeping true to the original. ![]() Recently it was discounted and I just decided, screw it, memories are memories, playing a bad game now won't change them, so I picked it up. I remember being the most popular kid in school for a couple of weeks when I was handing out floppy disks with the blood patch on (in the UK we got zombies and green blood as censorship) and it was the first game I played on a PC I built myself. I use the word mature to mean it was a 15 certificate (in the UK), it's certainly pretty immature in general. The original Carmageddon was such a big part of my early PC gaming phase and one of the first 'mature' games I played. ![]() I think the nostalgia plays a very large part in it.
